For those of you who have little knowledge of the real process and build up which is involved with fashion week, I come bearing an honest and frank explanation of what it is like to work amidst the madness. After all, it isn’t just about celebrity spotting and sitting on the FROW.
As a self-proclaimed fashion enthusiast, I have somewhat wormed my way into a society which must survive four weeks, twice a year, on ready-to-wear designer collections and free champagne.
I wanted to be one of them. Since my very first fashion week back in September 2014, I quickly realised that the fast-paced lifestyle was for me. I began to revel in the thought that I would be able to indulge in catwalk shows, free promotional snacks and goody bags. However over time, I have come to realise that there is only so much free Propercorn popcorn you can consume before you become borderline feral. Not to mention that working during LFW is no picnic; you will certainly be put through your paces.
I couldn’t resist a quick OOTD selfie at the venue |
There is a lot more to fashion week than what I have written in this post. However I thought this would at least reassure you, that although there is a lot of glitz and glamour, there is actually really hard work going on behind the scenes. I am so grateful for my time working with POP PR for another season and it is opportunities like this one which make you appreciate how much thought and energy goes into pulling off a fashion show.
Let me know if you would like to see more content regarding LFW or if you have any questions you’d like answered.
Stay Sweet,
Alice xx
